Your route to unmatched mountain adventures

Via Westautobahn A1:

  • from Vienna: A1 motorway, exit Ybbs. Then federal road 25 direction Lunz am See. At Grubberg turn left onto federal road 71 to Langau and then turn left to Lackenhof.

 

  • from Salzburg: A1 motorway about 180 km to exit Amstetten Ost. Federal road 1 to Blindenmarkt. Third exit at the roundabout, follow provincial road 97 to Steinakirchen. Continue on provincial road  96 to Zarnsdorf, turn right to provincial road 89 to Purgstall an der Erlauf. Then take federal road 25 to Lunz am See and Grubberg. Turn left to Langau and Lackenhof on federal road 71. Turn left to get to the idyllic village in the heart of  Ybbstal Alps.

 

Useful info:  Ybbs an der Donau is about 53 km away from Lackenhof and 72 km from Amstetten!

from Wien and Salzburg: Take Westbahn or ÖBB Railjet to St. Pölten. You have to change here to a REX train to Pöchlarn an der Ybbs. Then take the local train (R) to Scheibbs. Public buses MO1, MO2 and MO21 take you to Lackenhof.

Best train and bus connections from Vienna to Lackenhof:

  • departure Vienna Hauptbahnhof (Central Station): Railjet at 05:55  to St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof (Central Station)
  • ALTERNATIVE: Departure Vienna Hauptbahnhof with Westbahn at 06:06
  • St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof: R at 06:43  to Scheibbs station
  • short footway from Scheibbs station to the forecourt
  • Scheibbs station forecourt: departure 08:35 with Bus MO2 to Grubberg bei Lunz Bruckners Bierwelt
  • last change to Lackenhof: 09:55 with MO21 to Lackenhof
