Bergmandl and Heli-Kraft via ferratas

on the Hochkar in Lower Austria

Bergmandl or Heli-Kraft: Both via ferratas are an altitude dream come true for families and alpine pros.

Bergmandl via ferrata: perfect for beginners and families. Climbing rookies can take their first whiff of high-altitude air on this via ferrata.

Heli-Kraft via ferrata: Alpine pros and mountain addicts, listen up! This via ferrata is not for the faint-hearted. In the high-alpine terrain of the Mostviertel region, climbers can look forward to an athletic challenge of the exceptional kind. Once you’ve reached the top, you’re rewarded with mountains upon mountains of amazing scenic views.

Family-friendly via ferratas

Climbing in Upper Austria

In Hinterstoder or on the Wurzeralm: A climbing excursion to northern Upper Austria is definitely well worth it for families. The southeastern ridge of the Warscheneck, for instance, is an absolute must for climbing fans. And especially for families who don’t want to miss out on thrill and action on their summer holiday!

The via ferrata leads you from the mountain station of the Frauenkar up to the summit of the Warscheneck at 2,398 metres above sea level. By the way: The via ferrata is among the most beautiful ones in Upper Austria.

The secured routes are perfect for families with passionate little climbers and, thanks to a walking time of 1.5 hours, not that challenging.

If that’s too easy for you, you’ll find lots of other beautiful climbing routes in the Pyhrn-Priel region – accompanied by authorised mountain guides, if you like! They’ll not only give you helpful tips and information about the mountain world but also show you a couple of insider hotspots – promise!

Austria’s tallest mountain

The Grossglockner at Heiligenblut resort

It’s one of the supreme disciplines of mountain sports – climbing on a glacier! At Heiligenblut/Grossglockner ski resort, skilled climbing enthusiasts can reach the Grossglockner’s summit via the Stüdlgrat ridge. At a whopping 3,798 metres above sea level!

What do you need for that? In-depth mountain knowledge and will power. If you decide to take on the challenge of the Stüdlgrat, you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable experience, though.

Give the ascent of Austria’s tallest mountain a try!

Climbing variety in Switzerland

at the resorts of Savognin and Saas-Fe

At the Swiss ski resorts of Savognin in the Canton of Grisons and Saas-Fe, families will find lots of child-friendly climbing crags and mountainsides. True mountain pros have lots of options to choose from in the Swiss Alps as well. Challenging and demanding – that’s what the climbing routes and via ferratas in Saas-Fe are. Do you dare to ascend the Dom with it’s 4,545 metres in elevation? Or how about a guided mountain tour with pros on which you can let eighteen 4,000-metre peaks impress you?

For little climbing enthusiasts, the climbing crag in Bivio with eleven routes in different levels of skill is the perfect location to get some practice. It borders with the neighbouring Swiss mountains and also has a barbecue spot with tables and benches.

All those who can’t get enough of all the thrill should visit the Forest Rope Park in Savognin. You can even swoosh over the valley on a Flying Fox! An unforgettable experience – for both children and adults.
