Once you’ve reached the top, you’re rewarded with mountains upon mountains of amazing scenic views. 

In Hinterstoder or on the Wurzeralm: A climbing excursion to northern Upper Austria is definitely well worth it for families. The southeastern ridge of the Warscheneck, for instance, is an absolute must for climbing fans. And especially for families who don’t want to miss out on thrill and action on their summer holiday! 

The via ferrata leads you from the mountain station of the Frauenkar up to the summit of the Warscheneck at 2,398 metres above sea level. By the way: The via ferrata is among the most beautiful ones in Upper Austria. 

The secured routes are perfect for families with passionate little climbers and, thanks to a walking time of 1.5 hours, not that challenging.

Do you dare to ascend the Dom with it’s 4,545 metres in elevation? Or how about a guided mountain tour with pros on which you can let eighteen 4,000-metre peaks impress you? 

For little climbing enthusiasts, the climbing crag in Bivio with eleven routes in different levels of skill is the perfect location to get some practice. It borders with the neighbouring Swiss mountains and also has a barbecue spot with tables and benches. 

All those who can’t get enough of all the thrill should visit the Forest Rope Park in Savognin. You can even swoosh over the valley on a Flying Fox! An unforgettable experience – for both children and adults.
