Mountain biking

Spending summer on your bike at the skisport resorts

“I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike” … that’s not only the chorus of a famous Queen song but also the perfect motto for the skisport mountain summer. Surrounded by the most beautiful alpine landscapes and a breathtaking setting, cyclists and mountain bike enthusiasts can pursue their hobby. Over hill and dale, over challenging trails and rough terrain: Mountain biking at the skiport resorts makes everyone want to hop in the saddle.

Short or long-distance, challenging or leisurely: There are perfect routes for every level of skill. Up and back down again, pedalling till your calves are aching and your thighs are quivering: That’s biking for body, mind and soul.

The amazing advantage of the skisport resorts? The cable cars take you up into lofty heights – and you can bring your bike right along. Which ticket prices apply for the transport of your bike depends on the resort.

Tip: When it comes to offers for bikers, the Phyrn-Priel resort and the Wurzeralm are a great choice. With the Phyrn-Priel BikeCard season ticket, you can transport your bike by cable car for free!

In the saddle through the mountains

In the mood for an amazing view? If you would like to let your gaze wander even beyond regional summits, you can take the cable cars up to the most stunning scenic-view points.

Up the High Alpine Road to the Grossglockner with lots of sweat and will power or over hill and dale to the secondary summit of the Hochkar: The routes at the resorts of skisport.com offer the perfect amount of variety. On the Hochficht, you can enjoy 1,000 kilometres of bike trails and see one attraction after another.

By the way: Most of the routes on the Hochficht are car-free! That’s what makes the Böhmerwald a true El Dorado for passionate bikers. Enjoy your luck and start pedalling! How about the Mühltal bike route, for instance? It’s located right at the Klaffer on the Hochficht and offers 36.8 kilometres of utmost riding fun!

On the Wurzeralm, things get a little speedier. Adrenaline junkies particularly enjoy the single trail at about 1,400 metres above sea level at the Almdorf mountain station. Spring, summer or autumn – let the spirit of adventure seize you on the trails of the Phyrn-Priel resort!

In Hinterstoder, the mountain bike route from the Höss to the middle station with a length of 23 kilometres is highly recommended. The cable car takes you up to the Hutterer hut and, from here on out, it’s time to start pedalling! Thirsty riders can look forward to several great options for a break along the route!

In addition, Kössen as well as His Majesty, the Ötscher, in the Mostviertel region, offer great opportunities to bring your bike. Hop in the saddle, explore the pasture and forest trails, and experience summit joy at its best!

Mind you: On the Kasberg, there’s a ban on bikes. If you still want to set your calves on fire, you may bike up to the Hochberghaus!

You’d like to experience summer beyond the borders of Austria? No problem! There are 800 kilometres of bike and e-bike routes waiting for single riders and families at the partner resort of Savognin in the Canton of Grisons. Single trails in a breathtaking mountain setting and summer courses for all ages turn every stay into an amazing one. In Saas-Fe, you can look forward to adventurous mountain bike trails in a wonderful summer atmosphere.

In Val Senales in South Tyrol, a lot is happening in summer. Pack your bike, or rent one on site, and explore the South Tyrolean mountains on two wheels.

You can’t get enough of all the amazing bike fun, pushing the pedals and sitting in the saddle? Then go ahead and spend your summer holidays at the resorts of skisport.com and experience an exceptional bike holiday!
