Hosts and accommodation options

Winter holidays like they’re supposed to be

The eleven skisport ski resorts enchant their visitors. Quaint winter sports resorts, scrumptious food, friendly hosts and welcoming people complete the package. It’s a little bit like coming home – to the mountains. Passionate winter sports enthusiasts and pleasure-seekers can look forward to magnificent slopes and incredible offers.

Many of the bed & breakfasts, inns and hotels are located right by the slopes and thus offer short walking distances to the lifts. At the ski resorts of Hochkar, Ötscher, Hinterstoder, Wurzeralm, Kasberg, Kössen and Grossglockner, special ski busses are available to guests as well. That’s how slope hoppers can easily get from A to B while leaving their car in the car park.

Tip: Spur-of-the-moment kind of guests will find a spot at the many bed & breakfasts and hotels for an unbeatable price!

The skisport resorts also offer tons of variety and perfect conditions for a little break from everyday life. At the wellness facilities, skiers can revive their sore muscles and end the day in the pleasantly warm water of a thermal spa.

What would a ski day be without a break at a rustic hut? That’s why the hosts at each of the eleven ski resorts serve hungry winter sports enthusiasts their hearty delicacies, hot beverages and sweet delights.

Weekend tips

Here’s what your weekend at one of the skisport resorts could look like …

The sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky, and you’re ready for your ski day. To make sure that little slope bunnies won’t get bored, lots of options are offered.

Day 1: The first day you’ll spend on the slopes, of course. Whether it’s at an Austrian, Swiss or South Tyrolean resort – each one offers the perfect slope experiences for all ages.

Your mini-skiers aren’t quite ready for the regular slopes yet? The ski schools at the resorts will be happy to teach your kids how to swoosh down the mountain in no time. While adults are heading down the steeper descents, the little ones learn the perfect turn from the pros.

Day 2: You spent all of yesterday on the slopes – today, it’s time for some action off the slopes! Cross-country skiing, sledging, ice skating or snowshoeing – you’ve got plenty of options to choose from at every ski resort.

By the way: In Kössen, you can also go winter paragliding. Give it a try and admire the Tyrolean winter landscape from a bird’s eye view!

If your body craves relaxation, how about some family wellness? You could visit the brine pool in Göstling an der Ybbs. Warm water, a nice massage for Mum and Dad – and all family members will feel as good as new!
