What about x-country skiing on your Hochficht holidays? Yes, you can do that - on a 9 km intermediate scenic trail. It starts and ends at Klaffer village centre. You spend 1.5 hours in picturesque countryside including marvellous views!
Nordische Zentrum Böhmerwald boasts a total of about 150 kilometres of x-country trail criss-crossing the entire holiday region. 78 km of high-alpine trail, and if there is enough snow you find 70 km of trails in the valley.

The first tour is an easy hike starting at Klaffer village centre. Follow the asphalt street and turn left after 300m and walk along the edge of the forest. Turn to the left after 700m and take the asphalt road back to the village.
Take the road that leads you around the residential area. Take the second turn on the left after 500m. At the highway take the road leading downhill past the herb gardens and then back to the starting point.
From Hochficht Skiarena to Schöneben

Looking for a more challenging hike? This hiking tour starts at Hochficht Skiarena and leads along a groomed path through wonderful snow-covered forests. Then walk beside the x-country trail near to the Czech border. Pass the Hotel Inn's Holz along the country road to the x-country trail parking in Schöneben.

Tips for a snowshoeing hike directly at the ski resort: Peak Hochficht Tour! Get ready for a beautiful and calm tour starting at Hochficht valley station running through the forest. This snowshoeing tour leads you off the pistes (attention: crossing of piste!). At the beginning you walk along snow-covered forest roads and hiking trails. Later you reach the open high plateau with impressive views of Totholz.
Tip: Along your snowshoeing tour you pass Stinglfelsen (1,260 m), Hochficht (1,332 m), Schönbergfelsen (1,305 m) and Reischlberg (1,282 m). Pure mountain bliss surrounded by the Bohemian holiday region!
