By the way: The ski shuttle bus travels between the ski resorts of Hochkar and Ötscher!
Getting to hochkar and parking
By Car
Via Westautobahn A1
from Vienna: A1 motorway, exit Ybbs. Then federal road 25 to Göstling. At Lassing left onto Hochkarstraße and to the bottom station.
From Salzburg: A1 motorway about 180 km to exit Amstetten West. After the second roundabout onto federal road 121 towards Waidhofen an der Ybbs. Landesstraße 31 to Göstling an der Ybbs. At Lassing left onto Hochkarstraße and to the bottom station.
By the way: 60km from both exits to Göstling an der Ybbs.
Good to know: Depending on the weather situation, you may have to put on winter chains!

Parking at hochkar
Parking at the Ticket windows
Parking at Ticket Window 2
As soon as you leave Hochkar-Alpenstraße you are at the ticket window 2 parking. The Hochkar-Team recommends parking the car here on days with lots of skiers.
It is also ideal for parents and children since JoSchi ski school is easily accessible.
In case the parking is full, take Draxlerloch chailrlift to ticket window 1.
Bus parking is available next to ticket window 2.

The parking is next to Hochkarbahn bottom station.
Please note: Do not leave your vehicle in zones designated for emergency vehicles.

By train and bus
Public Transport to the Destination
By train and bus to Hochkar:
Option 1
from Vienna or Salzburg: Take the Westbahn or the ÖBB CJX 5 trains to St. Pölten. From there you can take the bus line 680 to Scheibbs. From Scheibbs station take bus line 655 to Göstling/Ybbs, from where bus line 643 will take you directly up from Hochkar.
Option 2
from Vienna or Salzburg: Take the Westbahn or the ÖBB trains to Amstetten. There will be a change to the regional train R58 to Waidhofen an der Ybbs. From Waidhofen station on the YBbs take bus line 640 to Göstling/Ybbs, from where bus line 643 will take you up to Hochkar.
Tip: Line 643 can also take you from the toll station in Lassing if you don’t have enough winter equipment on your car. But beware: The bus line only runs at certain times!
