Four guidelines for safe and sustainable paragliding

For a good flight in Hinterstoder

You can't do without rules - this also applies to paragliding.

The following four principles must therefore be observed:

1: Only those with a paragliding license, valid insurance and an approved glider are permitted to take off from the training areas. The only alternative is a recognized foreign license.

2 : Take-off and landing is only permitted on the designated areas. A strict landing ban applies on the Schafkögeln and the Hutterer Böden (middle station). The minimum altitudes must also be strictly adhered to in order not to disrupt cable car operations.

3: Tandem pilots & training certificate holders are obliged to register with the flight school before take-off. For the latter there is a free flight area briefing. Written permission is required for commercial flights and training courses.

4 : For wildlife protection reasons, the Weißenbachtal valley/southwest edge is an absolute no-fly zone - and therefore flying in and low soaring is legally prohibited.

1 - Take-off point "North": Pay attention to the wind turbine at the cable car, do not take off in southerly directions!

3 - West take-off area: In the afternoon, strong valley winds can create an empty area at the end of the western edge. On such days, fly immediately after the reservoir with sufficient height to the landing area and not too low on the western slopes!

C - Emergency landing area

D - Landing area: Large meadow on the right after the municipal office/tourism association. In normal valley winds, fly a left-hand turn. If the wind blows out of the valley, a right-hand turn is flown. In summer, the valley wind can be very strong. Do not land too close to the houses because of the rotors!

E - No take-off or landing, maintain a minimum distance of 100 m AGL

F - No soaring, minimum distance 100 m AGL
