There's a lot: the family adventure begins with the ascent to 1,400 meters above sea level on the funicular railroad - including a magnificent view. And then it lies before you, the Wurzeralm, surrounded by the Stubwieswipfel, Warscheneck and Roter Wand. Romantic Alpine pastures, deep gorges and plenty of untouched nature are just waiting to be discovered. The numerous hikes are ideal for this.
Good to know: The small but beautiful hiking area is located around the Teichlboden - the largest upland moor in the eastern Limestone Alps. Nearby Hinterstoder also invites you to go on extended tours through the unique landscape.
That's the motto on the Wurzeralm - and not just for skiers in winter, but also for hikers in summer. So that you always stay on the right track: It's best to take a look at the various arrival and parking options! Arrive quickly and safely at the valley station.
Practical: Thanks to its proximity to the highway, the Wurzeralm can be reached quickly and easily by car. Those arriving by public transport can take the ÖBB Postbus line 911 to the "Wurzeralmseilbahn Talstation" stop. This bus also runs to the nearby train station in Spital am Pyhrn.
