Welcome to the Kössen - Unterberghorn flying area, one of the best known and best spots in Europe for paragliding and hang gliding. Over the last few decades, Kössen has developed into a mecca for the paragliding scene. The Unterberghorn flying area offers optimal conditions all year round. The launch site at an altitude of 1,500 meters is easily accessible with the Unterberghorn gondola lift.
A short walk of just three minutes takes you to the launch site, which is located right next to the catered Bärenhütte mountain hut. From here, flyers can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Tyrolean Alpine landscape of the Kaiserwinkl and neighboring Bavaria. The Unterberg is definitely worth a visit. Spectacular impressions of the Kaiserwinkl, the Kitzbühel Alps and the Tyrolean mountain landscape await you. On nice days, you can watch numerous paragliders and hang-gliders take off and experience the flair of this unique region.

Tips for a good flight
The use of take-off and landing sites is at your own risk. Technical equipment and flying skills must meet local requirements. Special requirements, warnings, hazard warnings and announcements over the cable car loudspeakers must be heeded!
- The airspace above the Unterberg serves as a training and practice area. For safety reasons, it is particularly important to show consideration for any flight school operations.
- Please use the designated launch sites
- A safety distance of 70m from the cable cars is absolutely necessary!
- "Bermuda Triangle" - the only danger in terms of flying; a north/south valley to the west of the Unterberg with no possibility of landing at the bottom of the valley.
- Report any accidents with details of the location to the lift staff (+43(0)5375-6226-16)
- Take-off bans and the lifting of the landing ban will be announced via a loudspeaker system! The airspace must be kept clear for the helicopter during rescue operations!
- Speedgliders prohibited!
